Jacksonville Trip

My friend Hilary and I drove over to Jacksonville, Florida, this last week to visit some friends that left early in the year. Jacksonville is a little bigger than Pensacola and there were really nice shops and restaurants. We had a fun girls day/night with Dorothy and Ariana shopping, watching a chick flick, and catching up on what's been happening for the last 6 months since they've been gone. And we had a chance to meet their babies which is always fun.

Aubrey (almost 5 months), Arden (8 months), and Alexa (almost 3 months)...oh, the cuteness. Aubrey has just discovered she can grab her toys; Arden has recently discovered that her old toys sometimes get boring and that she can borrow other babies' toys; Alexa is at the stage of discovering that there are other babies around. It was funny to watch them in their different stages "interact" with each other.

And, Aubrey back with Daddy, her favorite guy.

John & Aubrey went for a walk in the rain. Aubrey was not happy about coming back inside. She is definitely an outdoor girl.

John went fishing with a friend he met at base. These are speckled trout, deep south style. They are now beautifully displayed in our freezer. :)

And our Aubrey girl...proof that she does have attitude at times. This was taken right before she realized there was a camera in her face...once she realized I had a camera she was all smiles. Oh, they learn young.

I was looking at this picture of Aubrey in her carharts and thinking, "I've seen that facial expression before..."

Introduction of Cereal

Dad Petersen and John put together this cradle when Dad visited...here is the finished project. Aubrey loves it because she gets to swing in it.

An artist friend of ours wood-burned this design onto the end piece; it's an A with a vine wrapped around it. Beautiful.
