...Yes, today was the day I was able to get Aubrey distracted long enough to put pigtails in her hair. I didn't know I would get so excited about this but I did. They didn't stay in for more than 20 minutes but at least there was time to take a picture.

Happy Feet
"Happy Feet," is a movie about a penguin named Mumble who doesn't quite fit in with his singing penguin clan. He cannot sing but he can tap dance, and he can't help but dance when he hears music.
Well, Aubrey has her happy feet as well. This girl loves music, loves to sway and dance to the music, and usually one of her first steps is to show off her "Happy Feet." Sometimes she will be just walking around the house, playing with her different toys, and a song will come on and she will stop in her tracks and start doing what you are about to witness.

Funny
Okay, I want to say first and foremost that I know my life doesn't relate as well to this as those moms who have multiple kids but this is really funny and very true. People ask me what I do all day and many days I can't think of anything I've actually accomplished, but I know I was busy and I know I am tired. (These are old pictures of Aubrey that a friend just sent to me. They are so funny I had to post them).
Recently, I was diagnosed with C. A. A. D. D. Child Activated Attention Deficit Disorder. This is how it manifests: I decide to do the laundry. As I start toward the laundry room, I notice that there are cheerios all over the floor and my car keys are in the cereal bowl. I decide to pick up the cheerios before I do the laundry. I lay my car keys down on the counter, put the cheerios in the trash can under the counter, and notice that the trash can is full. So, I decide to take out the trash. But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the trash I may as well pay the bills first. I take my checkbook off the table, and see that there is only one check left, my extra checks are in my desk in the office, so I go to my desk where I find a sippy cup full of juice. I'm going to look for my checks, but first I decide I should put the sippy cup in the refrigerator to keep it cold. As I head toward the kitchen with the sippy cup a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye--they need to be watered. I set the sippy cup on the counter, and I discover baby wipes that I've been searching for all morning. I decide I better put them back in the bathroom, but first I'm going to water the flowers. I set the wipes back down, fill a container with water and suddenly I spot the TV remote on the kitchen table. I realize that after work when my husband goes to watch TV, I will be looking for the remote as he tries to figure out who lost it, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the living room where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers. I splash some water on the flowers, but most of it spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back down, get some paper towels and wipe up the spill. Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.At the end of the day: the laundry isn't washed, the bills aren't paid, there is a warm cup of juice sitting on the counter, the flowers aren't watered, there is still only one check in my checkbook, I can't find the remote, I can't find the wipes, and I don't remember what I did with the car keys. Then when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all day long, and I'm really tired.

Ten Years Ago...
I was tagged by Amy...here it goes:
1. Ten years ago I was...finishing up my sophomore year of high school. I was 16, had my drivers' license and was feeling quite proud of the fact that I could drive to go meet Caley at the little cafe' by the library in Gresham. (I can't remember the name but something crazy always happened when we ate there).
2 Things on my to do list today: 1) Help John get ready for his flight up to D.C. this weekend (he's flying there...as in he will be one of the pilots...in a helicopter!). 2) Cleaning up and keeping busy with Aubrey girl.
3 Things I would do if I was suddenly a billionaire: 1) Buy a house with land where we could dream about settling down in someday 2) Use our unlimited funds to get to bring our families out to visit more often 3) Be responsible and invest/donate the money
4 Bad Habits: 1) I pop my knuckles. Yuck, I know, but I do.
2) I love reading, which isn't bad except that when I start reading a book I can't put it down until I finish it. Not so good for doing well at my job as wife.
3) I love starting projects, have a harder time finishing them.
4) Singing in the car. Okay, this one isn't a "bad habit" per say but it probably looks a little funny to other drivers.
5 Places I have lived: 1) Gresham, Oregon 2) Troutdale, Oregon 3) Santa Clarita, California 4) Astoria, Oregon 5) Milton, Florida
6 Jobs I have now or have had: 1) Countryside Pet Spa: dog walker/kennel cleaner 2) Finance office at Masters College 3) Marie Callender's Restaurant: hostess 4) First Pacific Mortgage: receptionist/loan processor 5) Wife 6) Mommy
7 Things people don't know about me (quirky things about me): I think I covered this one in the last "tag" post...if you're really curious you can look that post up :)
8 Things that make my life superfabulous right now: 1) Johnny 2) Aubrey 3) my friends in Pensacola 4) the Bible studies I'm a part of in Pensacola 5) my growing knowledge of/love for my Savior 6) the sunny weather we have here (before too long it will be humid but right now it's just right) 7) the Tillamook cheese we just discovered at Albertson's in Pensacola. 2 years of waiting and we finally get our northwest cheese! 8) our family who loves us so well from far away
I'm tagging three people because I can: Annie, Stephanie & Sarah. If you have the time, please do! :)
