Well, I've done a pretty bad job of keeping updated on our summer. That's mostly because we've been too busy enjoying summer to write about it. But also because my camera quit working and I am never sure what to do when that happens.
I've missed this guy:
She got to participate in a dance camp for a week. She's growing up so fast.
We welcomed more animals to our crew and Bryant is my kitten whisperer. He will sit out in the garage for hours playing with them.
Meet Ruffles:
And Tuffy:
I'm organizing a 'school room,' in our garage and the kids were busy painting art projects this particular day. Aubrey painted a very detailed hot air balloon, Stuart painted stick figures of John and me, and Bryant had a blast mixing paint colors and painting abstract stripes on his canvas. He is my free spirit.
Emmett had his own special table. :) And he painted a red scribble and marched off saying he was mad. I think because he figured out he was in solitary confinement with painting.
Since Mom and Dad Petersen have moved we've been uncovering long hidden gems in the form of embarrassing awards, report cards, and old school pictures. Here is a pic of me next to Aubrey, same age.
We went to a car show with Papa and Nana. Emmett hardly ever does this. He wouldn't let go of his "Gode," (sword), even when he was fast asleep.
I went totally out of my comfort zone and packed up our camping gear to take the kids camping without John. Grammy and Grandpa joined us and we had a great time.
Obi-Wan surprised us with his appearance.
Wading in the lake was fun!
Proof that I was there.
And the day we came back home I put up my first 3 jars of dilly beans! Yay!
The summer has been great. I am looking forward to the fall when we can go back to a slower routine and I can fix soups without groans. :)
