God Provides...

Back Story: We purchased this 1998 Subaru Outback before driving cross country last year because we needed a vehicle that had a lot of room for our stuff. It made it, no problem, to Virginia, and has been a wonderful commuter car for John.

In the last few weeks we had been starting to wonder how we could sell it. The engine was sounding funny, we needed new tires, and it was starting to be a quirky little machine.
John was driving to work and while on the highway the hood of the car flipped up and smashed the windshield. This picture is hard to see the damage but praise number one is that John was not injured. No one was driving behind him on the highway so he was able to stop and get the hood down before hobbling to work.

Now we had a vehicle that had been in an accident that we were needing to think about selling. Yikes. Until insurance called and told us it was a total! We received more money for the Subaru than we could have by selling it to someone. We are so thankful and are blown away by God's provision, again.

John is enjoying riding his bike to work in these nicer weather months and we will wait to see what new car is in our future.

Nana!

We've had a busy couple of weeks, but fun because we also had a visit from Nana!
Nana made it just in time to see the kids' end of the year program for CC! Bryant's class did a presentation on, "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands," and Bryant specifically chose a green shirt and blue shorts, to go with the earth theme. :) I love him.
Aubrey's class did the Chicken Dance to English Pronouns.
 Breakfast with Nana, before...
 Bryant's soccer game!
Stu-Bear got to go on a date with Nana to "Pamana Bread," where he ate an Easter Egg shaped cookie.
Emmett helped Daddy with the garden...
 Brothers.
We went to Jamestown with Nana...

We did big boy things like ride bikes...
 We decorated Easter Eggs...
We had a show with funny faces...

  ...an Easter Egg hunt...

We had such a wonderful time. We love you, Nana!
And the very best picture I could manage for Easter. Yikes.

First Soccer Game

Bryant has started soccer! Today was his first game and he was so excited.
Showing me how he was going to kick the ball.
Look at how grown up he looks. Golly, I don't know what to do with this.

Going after the ball...

He got it!

"Goooooo, Golden Eagles!"

"Good game, good game, good game...."

We had a great time cheering for Bubs (Aubs) and being his water boy (Stuart) and getting sent to the nursery to avoid game interference (Emmett). What a fun season we are entering!

More Conversations Around the Dinner Table

Aubrey: "When I grow up I am going to be an artist!"

Bryant: "When I grow up I am going to be a rocket ship man!" (astronaut)

Stuart: "When I grow up I will have a mustache and drive a fire truck!"

Aubrey: "That's called being a fire chief."

Stuart, wide-eyed: "YES! I like fire chief-us! I will be a fire chief with a mustache!"

I don't know where they get their dashing good looks.

9 Years

"Better than I was, more than I am. And all of this happened by taking your hand."

Happy anniversary, John. I love you.
