Resemblance
When we are out in public, I get a lot of, "Well, no question those two are related!" regarding Aubrey & Bryant. Sometimes I see how closely they resemble each other, sometimes I don't. But, looking back on Aubrey's pics when she was Bryant's age I definitely see a resemblance. Possibly even twin-hood, 2 years removed? :)
My ALL boy:
My ALL girl:
Yep, I guess they are related.

Things I Want To Remember
For about the last year if you were to ask Aubrey what she wants to be when she grows up, she would say, "Belle." One time, while trying to change her mind, I said, "You don't want to be a mommy like me? Or a nurse? Or something else?" and she said, "No, I will be Belle. You can be Beast."
Well, today, she said something that really touched me. She said, "Mommy, when I grow up I want to be a mommy, not Belle." I said, "Oh, that's nice, Aubrey!" and she replied, "Yes, because then I can drive."
Whenever anyone asks Bryant a question he nods his head vigorously. "Bryant, do you want a banana?" (NOD) "Bryant, do you want this ball?" (NOD) "Bryant, would you like to read a book?" (NOD) "Bryant, is it time to take a nap?" (NOD) At least he always answers with an enthusiastic yes. :)
One of his favorite books is Sandra Boynton's, "Moo, Baa, La La La." It starts with, "A cow says 'Moo.' A sheep says, 'Baa.' Three singing pigs say, 'La La La.' No, no, you say, that isn't right, the pigs say, 'Oink,' all day and night." Well, when I read it to him he doesn't say the cow says moo. Or the sheep says Baa. But he waits for the page with the singing pigs and he yells, "La La La!" I'm sorry, Ms. Boynton, but I'm afraid your book may have led my son astray. He now thinks pigs sing. How will we reverse this one?
Today was a difficult day. It was difficult from the moment Aubrey set my clothes out for me to wear for the day at 6:30am until 8:30pm when Bryant finally gave up the fight and went to sleep. (John is on duty today through the night)
So now, at 9:20pm-ish, with both the kids sleeping, I can look back on the day and laugh at the funny moments that happened. And I can remember to be thankful for my quirky, funny, sweet kids who force me to my knees, make me pray for patience and pray that these years don't go by too quickly.
Thank you for the reminder, Lord. Thank you for my sweet blessings.
