Laughing Baby

Aubrey was not a laugher as a baby. As funny as this video might seem, this is, in fact, Bryant's laugh. And I think it's hilarious.

My Little Girl

When people ask me about my kids, and they hear I have a two year old, I get this a lot..."Oh, that stage..."
I won't pretend that we are not being challenged right now in our parenting, but I would like to introduce you to my little girl and the JOY that this stage brings......these were all taken over Easter weekend. John & I were at a wedding in Minnesota so Aubrey spent the weekend with Nana & Papa. My little girl loves to wear dresses. She would wear them every day but we reserve them mostly for Sundays, our special day to worship the Lord. She LOVES church.
I think she's probably saying, "Ohhh....." in this picture. Like when you see a cute little kitten or a pretty flower or a new baby and you say, "Ohhh..." Aubrey is very animated in her praise of things. She loves getting excited about little things. I hope she keeps that through her lifetime, like her Great Grandma Farwell.

She loves trains and anything that moves fast. I'm pretty sure this wasn't moving fast but she enjoyed her ride on the cow train at the tulip farm anyway.
She loves flowers. "Petty fowser, Mommy," is what she says.

Aubrey is a smiler. She has been since she was born, really. We've never had to work to get our little girl to smile.

Aubrey is a thinker. I don't know if she is outgoing...she is not afraid of people but she really enjoys being quiet and thinking about things. Yes, I already know this even though she is only 2. Just this morning I went in to get her from her nap and she said, "Yet, Mommy..." meaning, "Not yet, Mommy..." She wasn't finished sitting in her rocking chair, quietly rocking in her chair with her stuffed animals.

My little girl loves hot cocoa. It is her special treat on weekend mornings with Daddy, and also on special trips with grandparents.

And she has entered into a new world of pretend. A cup of water is, "Toffee, Mommy...hot." Translation, "My coffee is hot, Mommy...don't touch," as she closes her eyes, folds her hands in her lap, and continues to tell her story about going to the store to buy milk for her babies.

Dad, thank you for capturing these precious shots of my sweet girl.

So, yes, we are in that stage, that wonderful 2 year old stage.

The Anna Anderson Mathematics

1 open door + 1 psychotic cat named Ivy= cat & bird battle in house= dead bird and feathers EVERYWHERE= gagging, shivering Anna while sweeping said bird onto dustpan and throwing it outside, then commencing the sweeping, vacuuming and mopping process of getting all the feathers out of house.

This about three months after grabbing onto a rat's tale in my washer and about two weeks after finally sniffing the rat out of hiding via decon and finding him dead on garage floor.

I have been impressed with my ability to calmly divert Aubrey to another area of the house, though. After I involuntarily scream at the disgusting varments that find their way into my house.

Now I need to go because Bryant has just done what he does best...fill his diaper past full while sitting on mommy's lap. It's not mustard on my jeans.

...This is the day that the Lord has made. I will be glad and rejoice in it. Yes, I will.

What Has Bryant Been Up To?

Working hard during tummy time...

Standing tall and proud (with the help of Daddy)....
Smiling...LOTS!
More smiling...and just hanging out with Daddy, Mommy & Sissy.

Bryant has also tried to fly, with the help of Aubrey, out of his swing. He was introduced to gravity pretty quickly. And, he has attempted to play catch with Aubrey, with no luck. His head doesn't do a good job of catching a ball.

Sissy also has been found sitting down by him while he was having tummy time saying, "Go, Buddy...good job, Buddy," with no encouragement from Mommy. And, Sissy has read books to him and showed him how to color. This little guy is loved, that's for sure.
