Happy belated Easter. We had a really good day celebrating with a few friends at our house. John read the Easter story and we enjoyed remembering how important Jesus' resurrection is. I guess we think about it often that Christ died for us but I so enjoy this holiday when I can feel the excitement of what happened on that Easter day long ago. The story did not end with Jesus on the cross. Let's not forget to thank the God in heaven that Christ the LORD is risen!
Today Aubrey & I went to play outside. We've all been sick and it was so sunny that I thought it might be a good idea to get some fresh air. We had fun for about 10 minutes before Aubrey managed to step on a fire ant hill and get bit on her little foot. So then we came inside to get comforted and she fell and hit her head on the corner of our dresser. She has a nice cut and goose egg just above her right eyebrow now so between that, the snot running out of her nose constantly, the coughing/weezing and the welts that made her foot swell up from the fire ants, we did really well today. :) Just call me mom of the year.
**To clarify for those who aren't familiar with fire ants: the little creatures pretty much swarm whatever body part has invaded their space and it feels like a bee sting....and then said body part feels like it's on fire once you've swatted them away (hence the "fire" part of fire ant). Yep, the beauty of the south. Aubrey didn't cry, she just kept brushing at her foot throughout the day. Here are a few before pictures. I didn't have time or energy to take after pics.
I am so thankful for this sweet girl. She makes my days brighter.
