Happy Easter

'For our sake God made the sinless one into sin, so that in him we might become the goodness of God' (2 Corinthians 5:21). 'In other words, God the Christ was reconciling the world to himself, not holding men's faults against them, and he has entrusted to us the good news that they are reconciled!' (2 Corinthians 5:19).

Jesus has journeyed to the far reaches of loneliness. In his broken body he has carried your sins and mine, every separation and loss, every heart broken, every wound of the spirit that refuses to close, all the riven experiences of men, women, and children across the bands of time.

Jesus is God. You and I were fashioned from the clay of the earth and the kiss of his mouth.

What shall we say to such an outpouring of love? How shall we respond? (borrowed from Ragamuffin Gospel)

Thank you, Jesus, my Lord, for that great Easter day when the tomb was found empty. Thank you for journeying to the farthest reaches of loneliness, separation, loss, broken heart, wounding of the spirit...for me. Hosanna! He is risen! Happy Easter, not because of the bunny, but because of the King.
